The Microfilm and Electronic Record Management Section is responsible for microfilming and digitizing the archival documents, storing microfilm reels, digital images and providing access to researchers.
In addition, there are a huge number of microfilm collection in its possession comprises 5,300,000 folios from 1,81,500 individual manuscripts and documents preserved on negative and positive microfilm reels microfilmed by the Nepal German Manuscript Preservation Project (NGMPP) during the period from 1970 to 2001. A complete and accurate descriptive catalog of the valuable manuscript has been prepared by a successor project of the NGMPP. Similarly, the National Archives has digitizing the archival documents for preservation and easy retrieval.
